Bio
Jackie is an 18 year old vocalist and songwriter from Long Island, New York. Some of her favorite artists and musical influences are Adele, Olivia Rodrigo, and Lawrence. She also loves classic vocalists like Nina Simone, Etta James, and Patsy Cline. Her songwriting heroes are Dolly Parton, Taylor Swift, Billy Joel, and Julia Michaels. She’ been singing for as long as she can remember, and when she was 13 she realized she wanted it to be her career; that’s when her mom signed her up for Debbie Gibson’s Electric Youth Performance Workshop. At the time, she was so nervous to sing that she could barely move. However, the experience taught her how to be confident as a singer and she’s now lucky enough to call Debbie her music mentor. She’s performed on many stages since and was most recently blessed to sing on the stage of the legendary Apollo, making it through to the semi-finals of their “Amateur Night” competition right before everything shut down due to the pandemic. Shortly after, she won the “Music Inspires” contest hosted by WBLI and NYCB LIVE for my cover of Bill Wither’s “Lean on Me.” In addition to writing songs, one of her favorite hobbies include recording covers and posting them on my social media @jackieromeomusic. She just recently graduated from Massapequa High School and the Long Island HS of Performing Arts, excited to dedicate all of my time to writing, recording original music, and performing live.
